Alignment Equals Productivity

"Well begun is half done." — Irv Gower (aka my dad)

Team performance is complex, and building it is both an art and a science. I’ve spent years working as an Organization Designer because I care deeply about creating organizations that are good for the world.

This work isn’t easy and is less about design (deciding what to change) and more about shifting behavior (actually getting things to change). But you can’t do either well without first knowing where you are — what military folks call “situational awareness.”

That’s why I’ve partnered with changeforce.ai to create the Good Teaming strategic framework. Based on insights from lean, agile, and organizational psychology, this framework can help your teams develop both situational and self-awareness. It uses AI to analyze what people on the team are saying, which helps us to understand what they’re actually doing.

Teamwork is magic when it works and painful when it doesn’t. Creating a good team may seem mysterious at first, but most of the job is simple and straightforward. Teamwork develops and changes over time. The Good Teaming framework will help you understand and benchmark how well your team is performing: what it gets right and what could be improved.

Using this framework, organizations and the individuals who comprise them can shift behaviors to support more efficient, effective, and committed teamwork across the entire company. A team I worked with long ago had a morale problem which we were able to trace back to out-of-date and inefficient tools. Without analysis we may have been tempted to try to boost morale through team-building or perks. But it turned out the real problem was a lack of efficiency (simple to fix once you see it!).

In under 24 hours this software, powered by OpenAI, helps to better understand how well teams are really working, predict risk areas, and suggest what to do about it. It’s able to provide real data on things like collaboration, psychological safety, and customer empathy. And much more …
